L’ eloy Nishmas Avraham Zev ben Yaakov – Dr. Abe Chames

Chofetz Chaim on Parshas Mikeitz

In Parshas Mikeitz, the passuk states, “Vayishlach Paraoh es Yosef vayirtzuhu min ha’bur- Paraoh sent and summoned Yosef, and they rushed him from the pit” (41:14). The Chofetz Chaim explains that everything that happens in this world, whether for the good or bad, takes place exactly when Hashem designates it to happen, without even a second’s delay. When Yosef finished serving his two year sentence, “they rushed him from the pit.” Without delay and at the exact designated time, Hashem released Yosef.

Similarly, at the time of redemption, Moshiach will not delay for even one second. Indeed, writes the Chofetz Chaim, Moshiach will suddenly appear, “rushing us out of Galus” and into Artzeinu Hakdoshah, Eretz Yisroel, speedily in our days.

Good Shabbos!
