Arnona Program

The Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Binyomin Moskovits, not only teaches students the fundamental principles necessary for learning, but also equips them with the skills that are vital for teaching and Jewish leadership. In fact, the classes which are conducted for the beginners division of the yeshiva, titled Aliyos Shmuel, are all given by selected members of the kolel whose ability to teach was acquired exclusively through their experience as a student in Midrash Shmuel. The Arnona Program is working with the same principles as Aliyos Shmuel, only applying them to a new environment; the world outside the yeshiva.

The Arnona program caters to the popular neighborhood of Arnona in Yerushalayim. The neighborhood's Anglo population consists primarily of working professionals. Knowing that many of the people living in this area have great interest in learning and would enjoy such a program if it were available, the initiative was taken to create an evening learning program that would specialize in teaming up individuals from Arnona with the skilled and dynamic talmidim of Midrash Shmuel.

In addition to the one-on-one learning, participants also get the opportunity to hear classes created specifically for this program by the greatest rabbis in the yeshiva, including the Rosh Yeshiva himself. Many have enjoyed this program as it provides them with an excellent chevrusa opportunity in the area of their home.

The concept is unique, and is gaining popularity by the week. The Arnona Program currently meets Tuesday nights from 7:45-9:00pm at Beit Knesset Shai Agnon in Arnona.
