Rabbi Dovid Broch grew up in the London suburb of Edgeware. As an inquisitive teenager, Rabbi Broch became a regular attendee of Project Seed. There, he was pleasantly surprised to discover the rationality and logic of Judaism, and found satisfying answers to philosophical issues. Rabbi Broch's learning experience at Project Seed and at the Hasmonean school inspired him to spend a year in a Jerusalem yeshiva before embarking on a law degree at Cambridge University. After graduating with first class honours, Rabbi Broch returned to Jerusalem and chose to turn his legal mind to the pursuit of a deeper Torah knowledge at Midrash Shmuel.

Fired by a belief that all Jews should be afforded access to the profundity and vitality of authentic Torah Judaism, Rabbi Broch gives of his tremendous clarity of thought and transmission skills to teach the halachos of Shabbos to the students of Aliyos Shmuel. Students, young and old alike, enjoy Rabbi Broch's sincerity, clarity, and affinity for every Jew.

Rabbi Broch lives with his wife and daughter in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Romema.

Rabbi Moshe Davidson - Maggid Shiur
Image of Moshe Davidson Rabbi Moshe Davidson grew up in New York, where he attended elementary school in Brooklyn and high school in Far Rockaway. Searching for his true calling, he made his way to Yerushalayim and found a place in Yeshivas Midrash Shmuel. There, he was drawn in by the unconditional warmth of the faculty and students, and began attending shiurim that made him put his own brain to work. This combination of warmth and intellectual stimulation gave him a great sense of confidence and accomplishment, and has provided the fertile ground for his development over the past six years.

Rabbi Davidson pairs his extraordinary ability to elucidate abstract concepts with his desire to help others attain greater access to Torah learning. As part of the Aliyos Shmuel faculty, he gives a daily mishnayos shiur to the mature students of the program. He is loved by all for his dedication to the shiur and for the warmth and clarity with which he teaches it.

Simon Bernstein - Maggid Shiur
I grew up in London until the age of 18, at which point my family and I moved to Sydney, Autralia. We spent a few years in our exotic new environment before returning to sunny England, this time to Manchester. Given that I knew next to nothing about Yeshivas, nor anything about the Yeshiva world, it was by tremendous hashgacha pratis and beracha that I found myself in Yeshivas Midrash Shmuel. It has been an every-day inspiration for me to learn under the Rosh HaYeshiva here, and has completely changed my perception of life, and the way I perceive and relate to HaShem. Now, as a member of staff of Aliyos Shmuel, I have the awesome opportunity to have access to those who have not necessarily experienced and develop skills in a Yeshiva environment and who, of their own volition, have decided to take time out of their lives to sit and learn. It is a zechus of which I am very appreciative and enjoy very much!
